Good Project Management
In its simplest form,
project management relates to the definition,
planning, control, and conclusion of a project.
Project
management has become vital to organizations
simply because it effectively handles the
management of business change. Traditional forms
of management are
not prepared to contend with the dynamics, chaos
of modern economic, social, and business
environments. Managers can assist corporations
in the achieving of profit goals as well as
assisting individuals with improving their work
performance by managing work as a project.
In its simplest form, project management relates
to the definition, planning, control, and
conclusion of a project. The more multifaceted a
project is the greater the need for a formal and
structured process. For instance, a project
manager may have the ability to effectively
manage a two-person project for approximately
200 hours in his or her head. However, to
effectively manage a five-person project for
1000 hours would require a more formal form of
management.
Project management that has good discipline can
prevail over organizational problems such as the
late completion of projects, or projects which
do not meeting the functionality requirements of
the customer. Strong discipline, along with
having standard processes in place is needed to
order to deal with any problems that may arise.
Excellent project management can be considered a
science, which relies on proven processes and
techniques in order to achieve project goals.
One must be able to managing and relating to
individuals as well as being able to apply
perceptive skills in any situation that are
completely unique to every project. Excellent
methodology increases the probability of
success, provides worth to the organization,
project,
and the project manager where as a well-thought
out strategy will provide the agenda,
guidelines, and techniques to direct the
personnel and the workload.
